The Hubbard sauna detoxification regimen has a long record of safe and effective use in treating a variety of environmental and occupational exposures.
The Veterans Detoxification Project is one of a handful of organizations invited to bid on a federally funded effort to find a treatment program for veterans diagnosed with Gulf War Illness.
In preparation for this grant, we are compiling a list of potential candidates who could participate in the program.
Please click on the link at the end of this page and complete the short questionnaire to see if you qualify for this proposed study. We expect the program to start in the summer of 2007. If awarded, funding will be limited to the first twenty-five qualified applicants.
The treatment takes three to five hours per day, seven days per week. The total time in the program varies from person to person, but averages about 30 days. The facility is open in the evenings to accommodate working schedules.
If approved for the proposed study, you will receive a medical exam and a panel of blood tests. We will repeat the blood tests 30 days later to establish a base line comparison and then you can begin treatment. You will also be tested after finishing the treatment, and again after 3 months. As required by law, all information will be kept private. For research purposes, this information will be linked to an identification number assigned for the study—not to your name or anything that can be used to identify you.
We will get back to you by email or by phone to let you know if your circumstances match the requirements needed for this proposal.
If you do qualify, we will stay in contact with you and set up a time for you to come in and do a formal interview to get started. You will be under no obligation to continue and can change your mind at any time.
